Youth Revolution Cycling Project

The Revolution Ride & Festival brings people of all abilities together for a day of cycling, celebration, and community. It is BORP’s largest event, attracting over 300 attendees annually. The Youth Revolution Cycling Project supports twenty-five young cyclists as they participate in the Revolution Ride & Festival. It is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to ride safely with friends and family on roads that wind through one of the nation’s top cycling destinations: the beautiful California wine country. Following the ride, the cycling team attends the Festival featuring live music, lawn games, a gourmet catered meal, photo booth, and an awards presentation where members of the BORP Youth Cycling Team are recognized in front of their peers, fellow riders, friends, and family for their achievement.

Testimonials
(Aimal has had an injury to his foot which kept him from being able to ride this year but he still came and volunteered along the course, letting people know which path to follow through the vineyard.) “I had a GREAT time today and I did a great job volunteering! One thing I liked about volunteering (as opposed to riding) was showing people where to go. It was awesome. Riding is better than volunteering because you get the exercise and get to explore but volunteering lets you meet people and tell them where to go.”

“I rode to Geyserville, We saw a lot of grapes and a horse. I got to meet someone new- it was fun!”

Adaptive SportsFest

This one day event is designed to provide people with new and thrilling opportunities to experience three adaptive sports: climbing (on a climbing wall), cycling along the Bay Trail, and kayaking.

Testimonials
"Thank you BORP for an amazing day of adaptive sports, fun, and friendship. That was a fantastic day. Great to catch up with old friends, make new friends, get back into a kayak and up on the wall. I hope you can make a Spring Sportsfest happen!"

“I would ask people to take a minute to think about all of the things they do on a daily basis or maybe just during the summer such as go for a bike ride, go water skiing, camping, or take a hike at a national park. Now ask them to imagine how they would feel if they or their children became disabled and did not have the equipment to do many of those things ever again. With BORP and programs like Sportsfest that will never happen. BORP makes dreams a reality!”
