The mission of AbilityFirst is to provide programs and services to help children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities realize their full potential.
2012-Ability First Camp Paivika
AbilityFirst Camp Paivika is a full-service, fully accessible summer camp. Camp promotes self-awareness, self-confidence, health, and well-being through a full range of accessible recreational activities, including horseback riding, archery, swimming, arts, and crafts, performing arts, nature hikes, cookouts, and campfires. All programs are designed so that each camper can participate to the best of his or her ability. These experiences empower campers to interact with others, enhance their social skills and develop a sense of belonging while enjoying the benefits of exercise and the outdoors. Many campers do not have other opportunities in their daily lives to engage in physical exercise or to spend time in nature.
