Moab Mania is a 4 day event put on by Telluride Adaptive Sports Program that supports adult men and woman, including vets, who are unable to ride a traditional bicycle usually because of a spinal cord injury. All of the participants are living with a level of paralysis and adapt by using off-road handcycles (three-wheel cycles that are operated by hand and some trunk control). Every night, our participants eat and camp together. Sometimes this event is the first time our clients have ever been camping in a tent or at least since their injury occurred. The evening is full of laughter and stories of the events that transpired throughout the day. With each day, every participant has the opportunity to try something he or she may never have thought possible and build his or her confidence and self-esteem — all while having fun in the great outdoors with their peers.
